Cool Things To See and Do In October

Chihuly Exhibit at The Dallas Arboretum - Now thru November 5.  Don't miss this extraordinary exhibit from world-famous glass artist, Dale Chihuly.  You can go during the day or night.  We went recently to both and you get a completely different vibe at night.  It's on my calendar to go one more time before it closes on November 5 so I hope to see you there.  You won't be disappointed. And if you want to take one of those babies home with you, become a member of the Arboretum and you'll get 10% Off the price of the museum pieces he has created for the event!

State Fair of Texas - The annual carnival and carshow is back!  For over 125 years, the fair has been a "must do" for most Dallasites.  The fair runs now thru October 21 so don't miss it. While you're there, check out our friend, Anna Palmer's, art at the Texas Discovery Gardens.

Klyde Warren Park - Opens Oct 27 - Klyde Warren Park is the new downtown park that links Uptown with Downtown. Klyde Warren Park will create an urban green space over the existing Woodall Rodgers Freeway between Pearl and St. Paul streets. It will provide connectivity to the city’s flourishing Arts District, bring cultural offerings together and serve as a central gathering space for Dallas and its visitors to enjoy.   In addition to a restaurant and performance stage, plans for the park include jogging trails, a dog park, a children’s playground, fountains, an area for games and much more.

White Rock Lake - Enjoy the outdoors at White Rock Lake What better way enjoy the change of seasons than play out in the cool, crisp weather? White Rock Lake in East Dallas is a quaint place to run, bike or walk the dog and several community organization offer fun activities for the whole family. The trail around the circumference of the lake is about nine miles, so you’re guaranteed a credible work out. Don’t want to go around the lake? Rent a kayak or paddle board from White Rock Paddle Company and venture out into the wild waves. You’ll love the unique view of the Dallas skyline from anywhere on the lake.
